Experiance from the CEO

“Families Shouldn't Have to Spend Tens of Thousands of Pounds Simply Because Probate Feels Too Complicated to Do Themselves.”

After losing a family member with an estate worth around £800,000, the probate documents were completed and hand-delivered to solicitors. The administration still took over 18 months and cost my family more than £20,000.

That convinced me that many suitable estates could be handled by families themselves if they had the right system.

The King Street CTS will guide executors through each stage, show what is missing, explain what comes next and flag when professional help is genuinely needed.

The goal is simple: complete probate correctly, account for every penny and distribute the estate directly to the beneficiaries — while potentially saving families thousands of pounds.

And Then We’re Tackling Probate

Probate Shouldn’t Feel Impossible

The next major development within KSEP will be the Probate Case Tracking System – CTS.

It is being designed to help executors understand, organise and complete the administration of an estate themselves where it is appropriate to do so.

1st October 2027

Estates Below £500,000

The first release of the KSEP Probate Case Tracking System will initially support suitable estates with a gross value below £500,000.

This £500,000 figure is a KSEP product rollout limit, not a Government probate or Inheritance Tax threshold.

Starting with lower-value and less complex estates allows us to establish the workflow before opening the system to larger and more complicated estates.

1st January 2028

All Estate Values

From 1 January 2028, the KSEP Probate Case Tracking System is planned to expand to estates of all values.

The system will assess complexity rather than assuming that a high-value estate automatically requires the entire administration to be handed to a solicitor.

Where professional legal, tax or valuation assistance is genuinely required, the CTS will identify the issue. And Help is available at every step of the way.

Final Estate Accounts

Probate does not have to feel overwhelming. By breaking the administration into clear stages — identifying assets, recording liabilities, dealing with tax and probate requirements, collecting funds, paying what is owed and distributing the balance — the process can become far easier to manage.

For many straightforward estates, families may be able to complete much of this work themselves rather than paying high professional hourly rates for routine administration that may ultimately be handled by junior staff.

The KSEP Probate Case Tracking System is being designed to guide executors through each step, show what needs doing next and flag where specialist help is genuinely required.

The aim is simple: keep more of the estate where your loved one intended it to go — to their beneficiaries, not unnecessary administration costs.
