King Street Estate Planning
Terms & Conditions
1. Who provides the service
King Street Estate Planning (KSEP) is the trading name used for this service. The legal operator with whom you contract is: King Street Estate Planners Ltd Company / LLP registration number: 169646516 167 London Road, Leicester, LE1 2EG Customer service, cancellations and service complaints: enquiries@kingstep.co.uk. Telephone: 0330 6518 818 VAT registration number: 5189419874 King Street Estate Planning provides estate-planning information, document-preparation, administrative support and related services. KSEP will not describe itself, any individual, or any service as regulated, authorised, accredited or professionally qualified unless that status has been verified and applies to the relevant service. Where a matter requires a solicitor, financial adviser or other regulated professional, KSEP may refer or introduce the client to an appropriately authorised third party. That third party is responsible for its own regulated advice, professional obligations and terms of engagement. Any professional memberships, registrations or regulatory permissions relied upon by KSEP must be specifically identified and kept current. These terms concern the public website and consumer estate-planning services for England and Wales. A separately agreed business-to-business introducer arrangement is not created by these terms. Read the service description and order information as well as this document before placing an order.2. Scope and suitability
KSEP offers an account-based route to estate-planning information and the services actually described in your order. A FREE Basic Will, Premium tools or an assisted / Bespoke service are different offerings; features, eligibility and support must be checked for the particular service. The current scope is set out below. The Premium Estate Planning Suite includes preparation of a Property & Financial Affairs LPA and a Health & Welfare LPA, the first 365 calendar days of Premium platform access, and a Premium Will at no additional charge. The price allocation is set out in section 4. The included Premium Will remains part of the promised package even though it has no separate paid allocation. The platform access allows eligible document updates and regeneration during the active access period. Creating no documents, one document or all available documents does not shorten that period. Completing an LPA or a Will does not mean the continuing access service has finished. Optional physical Will Storage is not included in Premium access. Where a FREE Basic Will is suitable for your circumstances, you may choose to prepare it as an interim option while your Premium Will is being prepared. A saved draft, generated file or download is not a validly executed Will: the applicable capacity, intention, signing and witnessing requirements must be met. An interim Basic Will is not suitable for every estate, and complex circumstances may require specialist advice. Preparing or uploading a Premium Will does not automatically replace or revoke an earlier signed Will. Check the intended replacement and revocation provisions and arrange proper execution before treating a new Will as effective. Do not destroy an existing original merely because a new draft appears in the platform. KSEP provides estate-planning services including Will preparation, Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate-planning documents, document storage and access, and other services specifically described on the KSEP website. Services are subject to suitability, identity, completeness and consistency checks. Automated and AI-assisted journeys support information gathering and administration but do not remove any required human review. KSEP may pause a service where information is incomplete, inconsistent, outside the service scope, or indicates that specialist or regulated advice may be required. Documents are only finalised or released when the applicable information, review, approval, payment and verification requirements for that service have been satisfied. A simple Will may not meet the needs of every estate. Overseas assets, business interests, complex family circumstances, trusts, tax issues, capacity concerns or a risk of dispute may require specialist advice. General web information or an automated suggestion is not a substitute for the personalised professional advice required by those circumstances. This does not reduce the care and skill owed for a service we have agreed to provide. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different legal systems. Do not use England-and-Wales document outputs for another jurisdiction without appropriate advice. A future app, probate feature or other announced development is not part of a current order unless expressly included in it.3. Accounts and your instructions
Use your own accurate details for your account. The person making a Will or granting an LPA must give their own instructions with the necessary capacity and without undue pressure. An account is not a way to impersonate another person or exercise powers you have not been given. A legitimate staff-assisted or other authorised route must follow the applicable authority and identity checks. Keep login credentials secure, tell us about suspected misuse and check names, addresses, relationships and other instructions carefully. Tell us promptly about mistakes. We are responsible for performing the agreed work with reasonable care and skill; asking you to check information does not excuse a failure by us to do so. Provide other people’s information only where you are entitled to do so and only as needed. Naming a person as an executor, attorney, guardian or beneficiary does not give you unrestricted permission to disclose their private data or give them access to the whole account. Joint or linked planning does not automatically waive confidentiality or make a spouse the decision-maker for the other spouse.4. Orders, prices and renewals
Before a paid order is agreed, the service description and checkout must state the total payable, including VAT where applicable, what is included, any separately charged work, the payment timing and any continuing charge. Third-party and registration charges must be distinguished from KSEP’s preparation fees. A free account or free document does not by itself authorise a paid upgrade or recurring charge.Current prices, allocation and renewal
The applicable price is the price displayed on the KSEP website, Price List or checkout when the client places the order. Where VAT is chargeable, it will be identified separately or clearly stated as included before payment is confirmed. Where a package contains separate components, services or third-party charges, the applicable allocation will be identified where necessary. Subscription, renewal, document-storage, physical-storage, printing, postage or other recurring or additional charges will be displayed before the client agrees to them. KSEP will not charge an undisclosed fee. Promotional prices, credits and coupons are subject to their stated eligibility, scope and expiry conditions. An order is created when the client completes the applicable purchase or service-confirmation process. Any subscription, storage or recurring service will show its charging period, renewal basis and current renewal price before the client commits. Statutory cancellation and consumer rights apply where applicable and are not restricted by KSEP terms. Cancellation prevents future renewal where applicable but does not automatically reverse work or services already properly supplied. Ending an account or subscription does not automatically require KSEP to delete records that must lawfully be retained for contractual, accounting, security, dispute, audit or legal purposes. Any continuing document-access or storage consequences will be clearly stated for the relevant service. The specific service and price accepted for an order apply to that order. We will not retrospectively replace them with new website terms. A change that materially disadvantages you during an ongoing paid service requires a valid contractual and legal basis, clear notice and the rights required by law. Nothing here authorises an undisclosed automatic renewal.5. Preparation, review and delivery
For the LPA preparation components, the agreed KSEP work covers preparation from your confirmed instructions, the required KSEP review and delivery of the prepared pack with applicable signing guidance. It does not include carrying out the signatures, acting as your certificate provider, registering the LPA with the Office of the Public Guardian, or paying certificate-provider, OPG or other government charges. Those steps, any separate assistance and any associated charges must be identified separately before an order is agreed. A Premium Will may be prepared in stages at your pace and may need clarification and review. There is no fixed multi-week delay under these terms merely because the Will is included without a separate charge. Any agreed preparation or delivery times must be disclosed before purchase, and the service must be provided within the agreed time or otherwise within a reasonable time. The suitable interim Basic Will option in section 2 is optional, not a substitute for completing the Premium work we have promised. You may need to complete the relevant fact-find and document questions and respond to clarification requests before an output is ready. The delivery and review arrangements in the service scope above apply; an incomplete draft or a status labelled “generated” is not necessarily the document approved for use. Software can contain errors or misunderstand an answer. Read the complete document and raise anything you do not understand before signing. Do not rely solely on a chat message or a screening result to resolve a legal or tax issue. The service description should distinguish automated assistance, administrative review and any professional advice actually included. We must provide the agreed service with reasonable care and skill and within the agreed time, or a reasonable time where none is agreed. Where cooperation or third-party action delays progress, we will explain the issue and the available next steps. We do not promise an Office of the Public Guardian processing time, a particular tax result or immunity from a legal challenge.6. Signing Wills and registering LPAs
Generating, paying for, downloading or uploading a document does not by itself execute a Will or register an LPA. Cookie acceptance and a website checkbox are not a substitute for the required legal signing and witnessing process. Follow the current guidance supplied for the document and obtain help where your circumstances require it. For a Will, signing and witnessing must meet the applicable formalities. Keep the properly executed original safe and make sure the appropriate people know where to locate it. A scan in a document vault does not by itself replace that original. An LPA requires the relevant signatures and certification and must be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian before it can be used. KSEP’s form-preparation charge is separate from an OPG registration charge unless the order expressly says otherwise. Health-and-welfare and property-and-financial-affairs LPAs have different rules about when attorneys may act. Official information: Making a valid Will and Making and registering an LPA.7. Changes to instructions and circumstances
Changes before finalisation are handled under the selected service. Changing a final document may require a new version, fresh review and new execution; changing a dashboard answer does not automatically change an already signed document. Confirm which version is intended for use and take appropriate advice before destroying or replacing an original. Marriage, divorce, births, deaths, changes to assets, wishes or legal rules may affect suitability. There is no automatic ongoing monitoring of your circumstances unless expressly agreed as part of your service. A revision or subscription entitlement must be stated in the confirmed plan details rather than inferred from a website feature.8. Cancellation and refunds
For a qualifying online consumer service contract, the statutory cancellation period normally ends 14 days after the day the contract is made. Qualifying digital content supplied without a physical medium has its own rules. You do not have to give a reason to exercise a statutory cancellation right. Failure to provide required cancellation information can extend the period. Starting services during the cancellation period requires your express request. If you then cancel while a service is only partly performed, a proportionate charge for the work properly supplied may be payable only where the legal information and request requirements have been met. The service cancellation right is lost following full performance only where the required request and acknowledgement were obtained. For digital content supplied immediately without a physical medium, loss of the cancellation right requires your prior express consent to immediate supply and acknowledgement of that loss, with the required contract confirmation. Agreeing to these general terms, using the cookie banner or the fact that a Will is personalised does not automatically establish those separate requirements. Where the required steps were not taken, we will not assert a waiver or charge that the law does not permit. To cancel, send a clear statement to enquiries@kingstep.co.uk or the business address above. Give enough information to identify the order. The form below is optional. We will apply any refund due without undue delay and within the applicable legal deadline, using the original payment method unless you agree otherwise, without charging a refund fee. Where there is a statutory cancellation of a service or non-physical digital-content contract, any refund due is normally made within 14 days after we are informed. Different rules can apply to the return of physical goods. Outside a statutory cancellation period, the agreed plan terms and any applicable legal remedies still apply. This clause does not remove rights where a service or digital content is faulty or not as described. How the Premium allocation is used
If you expressly request paid services during the cancellation period and subsequently cancel, any lawful proportionate charge is assessed against what was actually supplied compared with the full coverage of the contract, using the agreed total price and the component allocation disclosed before purchase. The calculation must take account of any discount and VAT applicable to your order. The table alone does not establish that a component has been supplied or that its entire allocated price may be retained. Opening a questionnaire, answering some questions or downloading a file does not by itself remove the right to cancel the entire Premium package. Any assessment of LPA preparation must consider the agreed work, review and delivery actually supplied; partly supplied work must not automatically be charged as completed work. Completing an LPA does not complete the remaining platform-access period. The access component concerns the actual access period already provided, not an assumed full year on activation. Future renewal access that has not yet started is not treated as already consumed. The included Premium Will has no separate paid cancellation deduction, and updating or regenerating an included LPA does not create another full LPA charge. We will explain any proposed calculation and retain evidence of the request, information supplied and work relied upon. Statutory quality remedies remain available.
Optional cancellation form — you may instead send any clear statement that you wish to cancel.
